Who’s the kindest, most thoughtful person you know? For me, it’s easy to identify, it’s my brother, Jesse. He is a natural leader, community organizer and is extremely passionate about two things: pets and cars. He’s been a volunteer at the Denver Dumb Friends League for years and has been an active community member volunteering for Jewish Colorado, The Anti-Defamation League and Rose Community Foundation. Jesse has combined his passion for the auto industry and people by serving others as a professional Auto Broker.

Before pursuing a profession in the auto industry Jesse received his B.A. in Economics from the University of Colorado at Boulder (Go Buffs!), traveled all across the U.S. as the Coordinator of Chapter Services for the ZBT fraternity and lived and worked at both Steamboat and Vail Ski Resorts. (If you’re looking for an awesome ski buddy, look no further than Jesse!)

Now, you may hear auto broker and say to yourself, “What the heck is an auto broker?”. Let me  explain. An auto broker is someone who does all the backend work to help find you the perfect car, new or used and handle all the financial components as well. Think of a realtor, but for cars.

While the auto industry might not have the best reputation when it comes to honesty, customer service and transparency, I can say with full confidence that Jesse takes those negative stereotypes and destroys them. It doesn’t take more than a few minutes of talking with Jesse or reading some of his reviews to understand how wonderful the car buying/leasing process can be when you have Jesse by your side. He makes the entire process easy, smooth, and comfortable, but don’t just take my word for it, go ahead click here to read his reviews.

He’s not just any auto broker, but ‘The Chosen Auto Broker’ for that matter. So the next time you’re looking for a sweet new ride, or a reliable mode of transportation, I hope you’ll consider reaching out and connecting with Jesse. His quiet nature, genuine care for others and immense knowledge of the auto industry makes him the perfect person to work with.

I know you’ll enjoy learning more about Jesse, why he does what he does and hearing it in his own words.

1. Why do you do what you do? Aka how do your values align with your work on a day to day basis?

I became an auto broker to talk about cars which is something I have been passionate about since I was little. My job is to help clients find a vehicle that works for their situation as everyone has different financial situations, credit and needs. For everyone that financing works for leasing is a good option for others. The values of honesty and sincerity allow me to stand behind every vehicle I sell. It is essential that I treat every client the same whether they are a first time buyer or last they'll own, woman or man.

2. Tell us a bit about your journey that has helped you get to where you're at today?

A mentor told me to do what I loved when considering long term careers. After working a few seasons in Steamboat Springs and Vail I realized I wanted to be in the automotive industry. The profession of an auto broker allows me to discuss something I've always been passionate about while learning sales, customer service and financial skills. Seven years later I continue to learn how to best serve my clients and define my target market.

3. How has networking, both personally and professionally helped your business and/or career?

Networking has been invaluable to my career. As an auto broker I rely of referral and repeat business. Being involved in networking groups like BNI and chambers has allowed other professionals to learn who to refer to me (and in some instances work directly with them). I have gained confidence in my speaking abilities due to networking groups.

4. If you had to pick one networking tip, tool or strategy that's increased your confidence what would you say it is?

Listening is a critical strategy for me. In order to earn a clients business they need to trust and like me to allow the relationship to be successful. Each client has different needs so listening to their specifications and handling questions/objections is essential.

5. What specific strategies or tactics do you utilize to maintain your various networks? What challenges or obstacles have you faced along the way and how have you overcome them?

Attendance is critical. The challenges I have seen and learned about are to treat networking as a professional venue first and foremost. A former networking group I was in was struggling and it took me many months to realize I needed to move on for my professional success.

6. What are your 'secrets' to success?

Treat everyone the same.  Maintain a positive attitude. Don't burn bridges- specifically I have seen that I may not get a deal but that person may use or refer me in the future. Don't take things personally.

7. Where can people find you online or in networking situations to meet you in person?

My company website - https://www.coloradoautobroker.com/brokers

LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/jesse-blum-7a708b4/

and Denver Jewish Chamber of Commerce several times a month (https://denverjewishchamber.com/)

8. Anything else you’d like people to know about you, your philosophy on networking or about business in general?

Learn from as many people that you can. The most successful people are the ones who spend the time and effort necessary to see results.
